How do you remove a stump?
We use a stump grinder to reduce the stump below grade. Then the area is backfilled will soil. The remaining roots decay below ground overtime.

Do you dig out whole stumps?

For very small stumps or shrubs we can. It's a labour intensive process and generally sub-optimal.
